Saints at Eagles NFL Week 14
Philadelphia Eagles vs New Orleans Saints, NFL, Lincoln Financial Field

The New Orleans Saints are currently the best team in the NFC, and the Eagles are fighting to stay alive in their divisional playoff race. A loss this week for the Eagles would all but stomp their chances at making the playoffs. The Saints are -7 road favourites (-105) (888sport).

Low Scoring in Philly

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off yet another loss and are sitting with an ugly 3-8-1 record.  Since they play in the NFC East, they have a shot at making the playoffs if they start winning some games, but it’s highly unlikely to start this week against the best team in the NFC.

The biggest story for the Eagles this season has been Carson Wentz’s awful play.  He was finally benched for Jalen Hurts last week against Green Bay and will once again be riding the pine pony as head coach Doug Pederson has officially named Hurts the starter for Week 14.

Hurts can help the Eagles by avoiding turnovers, but unfortunately, that’s probably as far it goes.  The Eagles have many problems, and Hurts is still a rookie who will struggle against an elite defense.  The Saint’s currently have the number one ranked overall defense and will wreak on the Eagle’s poor passing game.

The Saints have been a different team with Taysom Hill under center, focusing much more on the run game than anything.  The Eagles’ defense is strong against the pass but is one of the worst in the leave against the run allowing 129.9 rushing yards per game.

The Saints are on the road, and Hurts may come out playing better than expected, but I’ll take the Saints to cover the point spread.
