EPLThe English Premier League sees a collection of weekend of marquee match-ups.  Expect nothing, but the best action this weekend as the EPL’s title picture becomes more clear. Over the past five matchdays we are 12-12-1 and up +7.90 units. These EPL free picks will highlight some of the best matches of Matchday #16.

Brentford vs Watford

Friday December 10th @ 3:00pm ET, Brentford Community Stadium

BetPicks Best Bets

The Bees started off in sizzling fashion, since then they have fizzled out a bit. However, they are in a great spot at home against Watford and maybe with a win they can string together a streak and bounce up the table. Watford have lost five of their last six matches and have struggled keeping the ball out of their net. Watford have conceded 29 goals in 15 matches and Brentford’s offense has been above standards lately tallying six goals in their last four matches. Look for Brentford to pick their spots and succeed with strong counter-attacks versus Watford.

Pick: Brentford To Win (+110)

Chelsea vs Leeds United

Saturday December 11th @ 10:00am ET, Stamford Bridge

BetPicks Best Bets

The Blues suffered a disappointing loss against West Ham United and will now look to avenge that at home against Leeds United. Leeds have been playing well of late, but I expect an improved defensive effort from Chelsea on Saturday, which should stymie the attack of Leeds. Chelsea now trail Manchester City by two points and will have to limit their mistakes throughout the remainder of the season to overcome the gap. Chelsea have only conceded 9 goals through 15 matches and Eduardo Mendy, Chelsea’s starting goalkeeper has recorded seven clean sheets. Chelsea’s keeper will be at his best on Saturday in a bounce back effort after last weekend’s struggles.

Pick: Chelsea To Win To Nil (+115)

Norwich City vs Manchester United

Saturday December 11th @ 12:30pm ET, Carrow Road

BetPicks Best Bets

The Red Devils have been in good form since their managerial change and after a win in Ralf Rangnick’s first match on the sidelines, I expect Manchester United to build on their success and have an excellent effort against lowly Norwich City. Rangnick is the mastermind who can bring magic back to United and his first match showed a much more organized backline, something which had been problematic for United this season.  They recorded just their third clean sheet of the season, but it certainly is a preview of things to come. A staple of Rangnick’s strategic approach is to defend aggressively and press to get the ball back. The Red Devils did that in strong fashion against Crystal Palace and based on their talent, I am sure they will overwhelm Norwich.

Pick: Manchester United To Win To Nil (+160)

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday December 12th @ 9:00am ET, American Express Community Stadium

BetPicks Best Bets

Brighton & Hove are winless in their last ten matches, yet are still Top 10 in the table and certainly have the quality to overcome Tottenham who has struggled to score so far this season. The Gulls largest struggle throughout this winless streak has been their inability to score, they have only tallied seven goals in their last ten matches. However, they have been generating chances and I would expect lady luck to turn in their favour sooner rather than later. An extra piece of motivation is that a win by Brighton over Tottenham would close the points gap on the fifth placed Hotspur who hold the Europa League spot. Look for Neal Maupay to strike and Brighton to pull through.

Pick: Brighton To Win (+140)

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Sunday December 12th @ 11:30am ET, Selhurst Park

BetPicks Best Bets

Crystal Palace, much like Brighton, have been searching to get back into the win column, fortunately for them their most recent win has come within the past five weeks. A win over the Wolves followed up a win over Manchester City, arguably their two best matches of the season. Unfortunately Crystal Palace failed to build on the momentum they garnered from those matches and now sit in 14th place. Palace need to start winning some matches to vault themselves up the table. Everton finally got a win, upsetting Arsenal at home, however the Evertonians still only have so much upside. I would think they will not be nearly as desperate, having finally won a match. Whereas, Palace who have proven they can win big matches, will be flying around the pitch determined to come away with three points.

Pick: Crystal Palace To Win (+140)

Josh Saslove here, I am a passionate sports fan and have been consumed by sports for as long as I can remember. I have been a sports bettor for the past 4 years, starting out with betting on college basketball parlays. I currently write pieces for BetPicks, but have my own blog space as well, where you can find my past pieces. I am an avid fan of the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Raptors, Kansas City Chiefs and Toronto Blue Jays, so I know what it's like to cheer for the underdog. The 2017 ECF run by the Ottawa Senators and the Raptors 2019 NBA title are probably my fondest memories as a fan, as well of course the Chiefs Super Bowl win in 2020. I am also a big music fan and have been called Mac Miller by strangers on several occasions.

Full capacity crowds are back in the English Premier League, and we have a true four-horse race for the top spot this year. The beautiful game is the most played sport in the world and the EPL is the sport’s biggest draw. Here at BetPicks, we’re dedicated to providing you with expert picks, free picks, and best bets for the day throughout the EPL campaign.

2021 EPL Picks and Predictions

The EPL is not only the most lucrative and most-watched soccer league on the planet, but it’s also the one that attracts the most betting, and for good reason. The reason the league is so popular is that it features many of the best players in the world, but also, and possibly, more importantly, it is the league with the most parity.

Sure, Manchester City has won three of the past four titles and is the favorite again this season, but last year they only narrowly bested Manchester United. Liverpool is always dangerous as well, and Chelsea’s moves in the transfer window have put them squarely in the title conversation too. We’re in for a wild ride.

While those four teams are always pretty safe bets unless they’re playing each other, the other 16 teams in the league are a crapshoot. Obviously, there are tiers, but EPL free picks and parlays are so much better than others because the possibility for an upset is always realistic.

We’ll be making EPL expert picks and EPL predictions every week until a champion is crowned in May 2022. We’ll also be providing you with regular free EPL picks, and with the talent influx into the league this year it promises to not only be fun to bet on but a hoot to watch as well.

What Makes A Great EPL Free Pick?

Premier League predictions can be tough, so it’s important to find yourself the match and market that will provide you with the best chance to win or the best overall value.

While you would probably win a lot of bets if you bet on Manchester City every week, the value would not be great so you wouldn’t be coming away with much winnings.

What you want to do is follow several different betting sites and track their odds each week and when you see that a team or player you like now has more reasonable and lucrative odds, you pull the trigger and make a bet.

Keeping yourself abreast of any league news can also be a huge help. For example, if a key player is revealed to be unavailable, you can sometimes bet on the other side before the sportsbooks are any the wiser. The return of capacity raucous crowds will also give home teams the advantage they missed during last season’s COVID-affected season.

How do We Come Up With Our EPL Free Picks?

We’re watching as much EPL action as we can every weekend and making notes of different matchups that could prove to be value plays in the future.

We keep ourselves up to date on the latest roster news for each and every game we intend to bet on and ingest as many stats as we can. The EPL has also recently come out with a bevy of newer, more advanced stats to help with predictive analysis.

If you’re looking for EPL expert picks, where better to go than here at BetPicks.

What EPL Free Picks Do We Offer at BetPicks?

Before you dive into the wild and wacky world of EPL betting, you should get to know some of the main markets that you’ll be able to bet on. These are also the same markets that we’ll focus on with the majority of our picks and predictions:

  • Full-Time Result: Probably the most common wager when it comes to top picks, here a bettor is simply putting money on whether Team A or Team B wins or it ends in a draw. Because of that third option—the draw—odds for this market are far better than in any other sport. However, beware that if a game is part of a tournament and requires extra time, whatever the score was at the end of 90 minutes will be the result of your full-time bet.
  • Handicaps: Much like point-spread betting in other sports, this is a type of bet where you bet on how many goals a team will lose or win by. For example, if you take Team A with a -1 handicap, you win your bet if they win by more than one goal.
  • Totals: This is a type of wager where the bettor tries to predict how many goals will be scored in any given match.
  • Double Chance: As we mentioned, the possibility and regularity of draws make soccer a unique sport to bet on. A double chance bet is when you bet on two different outcomes in one market. You can bet on Team A or Team B to win, Team A to win or Draw, or Team B to win or draw. This is a great way to reduce risk when betting on an underdog.
  • Correct Score: This one’s pretty straightforward: as the name suggests, a bettor will put a wager on what the exact final score of a given game will be. This is a tough one to get right, but because of that, this market often offers great odds, even for in-game bets.
  • Futures: These are long-term bets where you try to predict where a team will finish in the table, how many points a given team will earn, how many goals a player will score, and other such eventualities. It’s a little late for futures for this current season, but you can probably still find a few good ones.
  • Player Props: With this type of bet, you’re wagering on whether a player will complete a given action during a game, the most common of which is to score a goal or to be booked.

How to Choose the Best EPL Free Picks For Me?

It’s important to consider your overall betting goals before getting into any serious wagers. Are you going to be a regular bettor that looks to build up their winnings a little at a time? Or are you more interested in following the season until you find a sure thing that you want to win big on?

If you want to bet on a weekly basis and not become overwhelmed when you lose a couple in a row, it’s good to create yourself a betting budget before the season. Using between one and five percent of that bankroll on each bet will keep you in check.

Those looking to win big on one value play would do well to stay tuned to the comings and goings in the league so that they can pinpoint when their time to strike will be.

EPL Betting Strategies

There have been hundreds of bettors who have come up with thousands of supposed fool-proof strategies to guarantee EPL betting success. Most of these have been proven to be more luck than strategy, but there are a few tried and true strategies that we continue to lean on for our free picks and predictions.

Know The High And Low Scorers In The League → Keeping yourself up to date not just on the table but on the goal-scoring records of each team in the league is always smart. Following those stats really helps us with our EPL free picks because using those numbers you can identify a particularly high- or low-scoring match on which you can make a lucrative totals bet.

The Handicap Is There For A Reason → So you might as well use it! If you’ve got a heavy favorite such as Chelsea or Man City that you just know is going to dust their opponents, using the handicap wager is a good way to find nice value even on a big-time favorite. If you like a favorite but their full-time odds are so low that it makes a bet useless, check out their handicap, you’ll usually find much more reasonable odds.

Pay Attention To The Schedule → One thing that helps us make our BetPicks free picks is to take notice of which teams are playing at midweek and which aren’t. League games, domestic cup games, European competition games. This doesn’t become as lucrative a strategy until some teams start being eliminated from midweek competitions, but if you get a home underdog who didn’t play at midweek taking on an away favorite that did play at midweek, reasonably speaking, you’ve found yourself some great value.

EPL Schedule 2021

After a strange schedule last season due to COVID, the EPL is back to regularly scheduled programming with full stadiums of fans for the 2021-2022 season.

We’ve got a regular 38-game EPL schedule on the docket, with each of the 20 teams playing home and away against every other team in the league. Midweek Carabao Cup and FA Cup fixtures will be played sporadically by all teams throughout the campaign as well.

For those that earned it, there are also the Europa Conference League, Europa League, and Champions League, which also play their games midweek throughout the season. All competitions end around the same time in late Spring, and you will be getting BetPicks predictions as well as free picks and parlays from us right up until the final whistle.

EPL 2021 Teams

After an insane summer transfer window that saw the EPL’s 20 teams combine to spend 1 billion in transfer fees on over 100 new signings, we’re surely in for an exciting campaign.

Up-and-coming teams like Aston Villa, Everton, and West Ham United will look to continue their ascendancy into the European positions while North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham both continue to attempt to emerge from the ruts they’ve been in for what seems like an eternity. Youthful Arsenal could surprise people this season.

But it’s really at the top of the table where the big-time excitement is. Defending champions Man City bought Jack Grealish for 100 million pounds but failed to land Tottenham’s Harry Kane after a dramatic saga, and Chelsea picked up goal-machine Romelu Lukaku, who is already making a huge impression in his second stint at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Liverpool remains a very potent side with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane roaming the wings, and they got back the spine of their team, center back Virgil Van Dijk, after a lengthy absence. Perhaps the most exciting development, however, was the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Man United, where he will try to bring back the glory of his early days at Old Trafford.
