NBA

Thanks to a big-time triple hit on Sunday, we escaped last week with a 5-4 record while also boosting our season unit total to +7.63. Not too shabby. We’re now 38-29 on the season and we’ll look to continue honing in on the most important NBA betting trends to keep the good times rolling.

New York Knicks @ San Antonio Spurs

December 6th @ 8:30 P.M. (EST), AT&T Center

BetPicks Best Bets

The Knicks have been scoring (and allowing) a lot more points over the past week or so, going over in four of their past five games. Not to mention that the Spurs have also hit the over in eight of their 10 games at home so far this season. Throw in the fact that the Spurs are playing the second game of a back-to-back and are likely to be playing sloppy defense, and this seems like a recipe for a lot of points. We’re taking the over on this game’s 212.5 total as our Tuesday NBA pick.

Pick: Game Total Points Over 212.5 (-110)

The NBA is back and in full force for its 2021-2022 campaign and we at BetPicks are excited to return to offering you the best free NBA picks and parlays anywhere on the internet! Stay up to date with our free picks and best bets every week to stay on the winning side!

2021 NBA Free Picks

The NBA is possibly the fastest-growing sport in the online sports gambling industry as the game grows its fanbase globally while increasing their market share in the US as well. The players are more exciting, teams are scoring more points than ever, and there is more parity in the league now than perhaps in the last decade and a half.

That level of parity allows sharp bettors to find value on a nearly daily basis thanks to the NBA’s 82-game schedule which features games on a daily basis from mid-October to April. You’ve got to love it.

With the short offseason and the continuing threat of COVID-19 absences, there will again be a ton of teams playing shorthanded at times, so always be sure to keep your eye on the injury report so you can pinpoint value picks when key players go down or return to the lineup.

How to bet on NBA?

With such a long season, the NBA is offering as many betting possibilities as you can imagine, with a variety of wagers to be made.

Against the spread

Betting on whether or not the oddsmakers were right about how many points the favorite would win by or how many points the underdog will lose by. For example, say the Jazz have a -7.5 spread against the Rockets. If the Jazz win by 8+, Jazz point spread bettors win, if they win by 7 or less or lose outright, Rockets point spread bettors win.

Over/Under

A point total or over/under bet is wagering on how many points will be scored in the game. For example, if the point total for a game is 215.5, a bet on the over will cash if both teams combine to score 216+ points and a bet on the under will cash if they score 215 or less.

Moneyline

Pick a team to win the game and if the team you bet on wins, so do you.

Parlay betting

Roll several markets together into a single bet to boost your odds and your potential payout. Every bet in a parlay has to be a winner for the parlay to win, however. So if you have a four-market parlay and get three out of four, that’s pretty good, but your parlay is still a loser. It’s all or nothing with NBA parlays.

Players prop bets

These are a lot of fun although they’re usually the last markets to go up on most sportsbooks so they’re the hardest to find for bettors who like to get their bets in early like us. You’re betting on whether or not a player will notch a certain amount of a certain stat such as points, rebounds, assists, blocks, etc.

Team prop bets

Cover a lot of different outcomes from games that don’t necessarily have any bearing on the game’s final outcome. Some examples include how many rebounds a team will get, how many points they’ll score in the second frame, whether they’ll win the tip, etc.

Futures

These are long-term bets that usually span the length of an entire NBA season. They cover long-term results such as who will win the NBA championship, how many games a given team will win this season, whether a team will make the playoffs, who will win MVP/ROY/MIP, etc.

Live betting

This is an exciting form of betting where you can bet on props while a game is going on live, which certainly adds to the excitement. Examples include, who will score the next basket, how many points a player will score after the half, who will win based on the current score, etc.

What makes our NBA free picks the best?

BetPicks’ free picks are made by experts who always ensure that we remain up-to-date on all the relevant news, injuriers, stories, and roster moves from teams across the league while also keeping our eye on various NBA betting trends that may be sprouting up.

Because we follow the game so closely, we’re always ready to be incisive when we find a line, market, or odds that jump out at us as value. We’re never going to suggest huge favorites, instead opting to look a little bit closer into the stats, matchups, and trends to find a top pick like an alternative spread, total, or player prop that offers more bang for your buck.

Betting is all about opportunity cost, so that’s why we believe that our NBA free picks and predictions are not worth the cost of the bet unless the opportunity is there for some significant return.

How to choose the best NBA free pick for me?

There are a ton of NBA picks and predictions out there, but how do you know if they’re for you? That generally depends on two factors: goals and experience.

If you’re a new bettor with a small bankroll and knowledge of the sport, starting off with a safer bet on a favorite just to get your toes wet is usually a better way to get rolling. Sharps and experienced bettors, meanwhile, are always looking for that one little advantage over the bookmakers to find themselves value on a riskier bet or parlay.

The other is your betting goals: What do you want to do with your sports betting? Are you looking to bet often and slowly build your bankroll up with a lot of smaller bets? Or are you looking to make fewer but more potentially lucrative wagers to try and win big?

NBA Betting strategies

If you want to have consistent NBA betting success with your NBA picks, it’s prudent to come up or follow along one or two tried and trusted strategies, here are a few of our favorites.

Play The Field

This is one of the simplest to use to make sure you’re getting the best value on your bet. Making accounts with several different sportsbooks and comparing their odds and lines for the bets you intend to make ensures that you always get a good bang for your buck.

Big-Time Home Dogs

While many believe the home-court advantage is a myth, the numbers would suggest otherwise, and it’s not hard to see why: of course players play better in a familiar, safe environment with more support. When you see a home team that’s a 10+ point underdog, they’re a great shout on the point spread (NOT the moneyline), a strategy that has proven to hit at a 58% rate in previous seasons.

Inter-Conference Overlord

Because teams from opposite conferences don’t meet as often, the numbers for their matchups usually aren’t as accurate. If you find an intra-conference game with a total of 220 or more, we suggest you smash that over: pro sports bettor Allen Moody used this system over several years with a 63.5% success rate.

NBA Season 2021-22

If you follow our NBA free picks, you’re likely to find success on your betting journey, but knowing what’s new about this 2021-2022 season can’t hurt! There’s a ton of parity for the first time in a while, but we can still pinpoint a few teams that should be good picks to have success and possibly go all the way.

Teams like the Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, and Milwaukee Bucks return similar teams that are good shouts for futures betting. The Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls are a few of our favorite contenders who had major makeovers during the offseason courtesy of free agency.

With the pandemic raging on in the US, many absences due to issues with the virus should be expected as well—absences that often allow for betting value to be found for our picks and predictions.

This crop of rookies is very intriguing as well, with Toronto’s Scottie Barnes promising to become a major contributor this season for Canada’s team, the Raptors. Other notable rookies include Detroit’s Cade Cunningham and Cleveland’s Evan Mobley.

NBA Schedule 2021-22

The NBA’s 2021-2022 regular season started back on October 19th, with the campaign returning to a regular 82-game schedule for all 30 teams that will finish on April 10th. The trade deadline will be on February 10th, and the 2022 All-Star Break will take place a week later from February 18th to the 23rd.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the new and exciting play-in tournament (seeds 6-10 in each conference) take place from April 12th to the 15th to determine the bottom two playoff seeds in each conference. The postseason tournament proper starts on April 16th and will run until the NBA Finals—which begin on June 2nd—conclude, no later than June 19th.

We’re in for a wild and wacky NBA season, and we’ll be providing you with BetPicks predictions and free NBA picks all along the way!

2021-22 NBA playoffs Free Picks

The NBA playoffs treat NBA bettors to elite matchups on a daily basis for two months where truly any team can win, which allows for a ton of value to be found. Because the teams are all so good, the lines are usually much better for punters, imbuing picks and predictions with a lot more value. Clear betting trends and team tendencies emerge much more quickly in the playoffs as well, which allows bettors to take better advantage of them.

NBA Finals 2021-22 Free Picks

The 2022 NBA Finals should be one of the best in recent memory, with the league recently experiencing a renaissance of parity. The phrase ‘this is anyone’s year’ has probably not been more true for some time than it is for this campaign. We’ll keep you on track with NBA picks of the week, expert picks and best bets for today up until and during these NBA Finals.
