Free Picks: Green Bay Packers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFC Championship Packers vs Buccaneers
Green Bay Packers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NFL, Lambeau Field

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made it to the NFC Championship as a Wild-Card and are set to face the No. 1 seed Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.  Tom Brady looks to make his 10th Super Bowl appearance, while Aaron Rodgers looks to claim his second NFC title.  The Packers are -3 home favorites (-125) (888sport).

Rodgers vs Brady

The Green Bay Packers will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC Championship in what should be an exciting game.

Tom Brady has had a successful first year as the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Aaron Rodgers has had an incredible comeback year.  Both quarterbacks are legendary, but oddsmakers are favouring the Rodgers and the Packers.

The Buccaneers looked impressive in their upset over the New Orleans Saints in the divisional round last weekend.  Their defense made Drew Brees look finished as they picked him off three times, and they recovered a fumble by TE Jared Cook.

Tom Brady did enough to win the game by throwing for 199 passing yards and two touchdowns.  The running game also looked good, with Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II working well in tandem.  Green Bay’s weak spot defensively is in stopping the run, so if Arians can get his running backs going as he did against New Orleans, the Bucs will have a strong chance of winning the game.

The Packers lost to the Buccaneers during the regular season, but a playoff game at Lambeau Field will be different.  It’ll be interesting to see how Tampa Bay’s players react to playing in the cold, but this is where Aaron Rodgers has the upper hand,

The Buccaneers held Saints’ star, WR Michael Thomas, in check, but he was playing through an injury, so it’s doubtful the Bucs’ defense will be so lucky against Davante Adams.  The star wideout isn’t the only offensive weapon for the Packers, though, as they’ve developed an excellent running game with Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. They rushed for a combined 165 yards in the divisional round against the Los Angeles Rams.

Aaron Rodgers is under immense pressure after facing criticism for not winning multiple Super Bowls, but the future hall-of-famer is in a prime spot at home this weekend.  Oddsmakers predict a close game since the Packers are only -3 (-125) (888sport) favourites at home.

As long as Green Bay can avoid turnovers, it looks like the NFC title is theirs for the taking.

Tom Brady is still a threat, even at 43 years old, and the Buccaneers have scored at least 30 points in their last five games.  The OVER has cashed in eight of Green Bay’s last eight games in January, so expect another high-scoring contest here as well.
