Free Picks: New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys, Week 5

The winless New York Giants take on The Dallas Cowboys on their home turf as they try to make a mark in their division. The Dallas Cowboys haven’t looked so great either at only 1-3 to start the year, but 888sport has them favoured by -9.

The Giants are absolutely abysmal. After being touted as one of the players most likely to improve, quarterback Daniel Jones has taken two steps backward. He’s only completing 61.1% of his passes and has thrown 2 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. It’s not like the Giants are crawling with talent on offense, but he’s still committing costly turnovers.

The Dallas Cowboys have been even more frustrating. This was a team that early sportsbooks had as a Super Bowl contender. Now they’re sitting at 1-3 in the worst division in football and just got outplayed and outsmarted by the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

The Dallas Cowboys are underachieving big time, and have been horrible on defense as they rank in the bottom ten in passing yards allowed, and are allowing 36.5 points per game. Luckily for the Cowboys, the Giants flat out can’t score. Their highest single-game points total to date was 16 back in Week 1, and it’s only gone down from there, scoring 13, 9, and 9 in their next three games.

Even with their defensive woes, I expect Dallas to win this game easily by at least a few scores. 888sport has the Cowboys at 1.25 with the Moneyline. Not a lot of value to be found there. Instead, I’m more inclined to tackle the UNDER in this one, which 888sport also at a value of 1.91.
