Oklahoma State Cowboys vs Oklahoma Sooners, NCAAB, Lloyd Noble Center

Oklahoma State and Cade Cunningham will be dancing in March, but the question is how high will they be seeded? A win at Oklahoma would go a long way to a 4 or 5 seed for the Cowboys. NCAA basketball odds should make the Cowboys about 3 or 4 point dogs on the road, so our BetPicks Prediction will be on the spread.

Cade The Colossus

Oklahoma State has not had this much momentum in years. The program’s last March Madness win was in 2009, however there is hope with Cade Cunningham. The projected #1 overall draft pick is arguably the most electrifying player in the country and he doesn’t shy from top competition. Cade owns multiple 25 point games on the road in Big 12 play, dropping 25 at Texas Tech and 26 at Kansas respectively. Oklahoma State are 6-4 in Q1 games and let Cade be a superstar in crunch time, however Cade isn’t the only one shining.

Kalib Boone has been an absolute gem lately. In his last 5 Q1 games Kalib Boone has averaged 17PPG/9RPG/2.8BPG, the offense especially is much better than his mark of 9.6PPG on the season. When Boone scores in double digits the Cowboys are 8-1 SU and 6-3-0 ATS, he is their X-Factor and gives them a higher ceiling with offense coming from the 5 position. The Sooners have a solid interior defense, however Kur Kuath and Brady Manek have both struggled defensively in Q1 games. An abysmal Kansas State squad just upended Oklahoma who have been coasting way too much lately, if the ball goes into Boone business will be booming for the Cowboys. I will be playing the moneyline with the Cowboys at +money (+190 on 888Sport).

This is the beginning of a treacherous path for the Cowboys where they’ll play the Sooners twice, Baylor and West Virginia before the Big 12 tournament. If they can go 2-2 during that stretch, they could easily get back into the Top 25 and earn themselves a 4 seed in March Madness. Aside from a 91-point showing at West Virginia, Oklahoma’s offense has hit a rut lately scoring under 70 points in 4 out of 6 contests. Their three-point shooting has gone cold at 29.7%, and this spells trouble as the Cowboys own a Top 20 defense who will make the Sooners earn every bucket. Take the points and ride with the upstart Cowboys!

Josh Saslove here, I am a passionate sports fan and have been consumed by sports for as long as I can remember. I have been a sports bettor for the past 4 years, starting out with betting on college basketball parlays. I currently write pieces for BetPicks, but have my own blog space. I am an avid fan of the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Raptors, Kansas City Chiefs and Toronto Blue Jays, so I know what it's like to cheer for the underdog. The 2017 ECF run by the Ottawa Senators and the Raptors 2019 NBA title are probably my fondest memories as a fan, as well of course the Chiefs Super Bowl win in 2020. I am also a big music fan and have been called Mac Miller by strangers on several occasions.
